Something for Honda Owners to Think About.

I have owned a Honda S2000 sports car from new for four years. I obviously don't use it for towing as it is quite unsuitable, but, like other Hondas which can tow, it has a Vehicle Stability Assist device (VSA) which helps when driving, particularly in slippery conditions.

The VSA warning light came on the other day for no obvious reason and would not go off. The car was serviced today (45,000 mile) and the dealer advised me that the replacement part to fix it would cost £1,700 plus VAT (!!!) as the car was out of warranty.   Surprised

I said I would think about it as I don't mind driving without what is only a type of traction control. The dealer immediately said they could call Honda and see if they could do anything to help as the mileage was fairly low for a 52 month old car even if it was out of warranty.

Within 15 minutes, the dealer called back and offered to give me a discount of £928.00 on the £1700 price.

I was probably still "done", but it seems if you have a VSA problem on a CRV or other Honda, it might be worth querying it, rather than paying through the nose.      Don't cry
