"Running in" a new towcar?

We get our new Chevrolet Captiva in mid April and are wondering about what, if anything, the advice is about "running in" a new car prior to towing?  Is this still necessary with new, modern car engines?  We're waiting to hear back from Chevrolet re this but wondered if anyone has any advice they can give...?  Really want the car to be ready to tow for the Bank Holiday weekend at the beginning of May!
