I read in today’s Google that the Toshiba Corporation have developed a new battery using titanium niobium oxide electrodes. An EV that is useful is not that far away. Not only are they saying that the battery is capable of a 200miles range but can be fully recharged in 6 yes- six minutes. With 90% of it useful storage being retained even after 5000 cycles. The new material also does away with the dangers of short circuit as in lithium for instance.  They hope to commercialise it in 2019.Battery technology is really moving forward now. Towing with one of course still has a long way to go?  wonder if a smaller version will be available for the leisure industry?

For those of us obsessed with batteries, there was an interesting and well balanced program on  R4  (The Bottom Line, Thurs 2030hrs). LINK
