MOT

I have just had the mot done on the car, £35 from kwikfit but a colleague said they charge less then add on for failures, my car has flown through every mot going apart from today, they have stated

1/ offside front brake fluctuating

2/ exhaust emits an excessive level of smoke.

Now I am away and cant take it to my regular mechanic or mot centre, I know fualts occur with cars but, I am thinking they are trying to con me !

Could this be possible ?

They can rectify for £330, Im going elsewhere for re-check but have to go back there for re-test.

To say I'm livid with the failure is an understatement.

I put this in general section cause I'm hoping for quick answers.
