Hi Folks,

This is the first time I've used this forum but after having spoken to several Sorento owners this weekend at at Club site, it appears that not many people know about the Sorento rear axle corrosion problem and Kia's Technical Service Bulletin No KCE12-31-P010-BL.

This 'recall' (Kia are reluctant to call it a recall) affects all Sorento's manufactured from the start of production to Nov 2008, it's due to the poor rust proofing they applied to the rear axle which has now caused them to rot through by the shock absorber mounts.

It is undertaken by all main Kia dealres and it's FREE and takes about 3hrs for Kia to inspect, modify (dril drain holes in the shock mounts) and to then re rust proof the whole rear axle assembly.

Your axle wil be inspected and re rust proofed if still OK, if its not OK the axle will be replaced (about £3000) free...yes free, so get your Sorento inspected NOW.

I've had mine done and have advised as many Sorenot owner sas I can find!Laughing
