Hi all , I have been thinking of changing my car , I will be buying used 1 to 2 years  old .

I would like to hear some of your views on what I have been looking at as a tow car , at present I have a CRV 2009 , and we have a 2016 VALENCIA .

The cars I have been looking at are , AUDI Q3 QUATTRO MANUAL , HYUNDAI TUCSUN 2LTR MANUAL , VOLVO XC60 2LTR MANUAL , all will be diesel .

I look forward to reading all your valued views , thoughts and comments

Mick

SELL you never mentioned auto's in your choice. once you have towed with an auto you will never go back to a manual. Trust me and loads will back me up on that.

Sell is quoting his experience with his car which is a manual.

no he isn't, he's listing cars he's looking at. he doesn't state his crv 2009 is a manual

No, it’s the OP who listed those cars.

Sell only talked of his own experience with his manual car.

Hi to all and thanks for all the replies and advice  it's helped me loads , I know I did not get all the information down , by the way my CRV  is a manual.  I have checked different matching sites and get different results on the same car , so I thought I would get some thoughts from like minded people .

I got some good advice and some other ideas on other cars to look at .

The one other thing I was looking at was how high the emissions where and trying to choose one which is not to high to keep the tax down a bit , but that will be what ever it is .

Once again thanks to all for there input into this I really appreciate it and i will still keep an eye on this page for further comments

If you are looking at the Hyundai Tucson, which is a good car, do also have a look at the Santa Fe. Slightly bigger (2.2 diesel engine) but will be master of anything you are likely to tow.

Do you have a particular need for choosing a 4x4 such as rally fields  or CL use? I owned a Sorento for 2 years and towed 10000 miles but  never left tarmac with it. I loved the raised driving position  but was less fond of 19 mpg towing. I now tow a 1500kg  Lunar with a large estate that has masses of room for all our kit when we go on long trips and does 28mpg. Just a thought

Yes agree with you... we tow with a fairly decent-sized estate car and the space is very usable.
