Which way round should my arial be when stowed?

Daft question guys, which way round should my arial be when stowed for travel please?

The guy I bought it from said the 'T' bar (flat side) should be forward and the tear drop end backwards.

But I see others with the tear drop forwards!

Any advice please for the newbie?
