The other half wants a simple small storm porch for the caravan (Ranger GT60 520/4) not a full size awning.
I am not in love with awnings after having a long discussion with a caravan repair company a few years ago who said they are the best thing designed for causing leaks to the roof side seams, due to the side strain on the them caused by high winds blowing the awning and 60% of leaks found were always on the awning side.
He also said they are also the best thing for cracking the shower tray as many people stuff the awning poles ontop of the shower tray!
After being married for 44 years I know my place :( , my wife wants a small awning that is easy to put up , many well known dealers say the best ones must have rigid poles as oppossed to the curved pole type that appear can be put up quicker, but we tour 'all year round' so it will get a fair share of rain/snow.

Bearing in mind we are both pensioners anyone bought the ideal solution awning without needing to get a morgage :D
