Toilet chemical perfume allergy

I'm new to motorhoming and have recently purchased a micro motorhome which can accommodate a Porta Potti 335 inside.

My problem is that the perfume from the small sample Thetford chemicals cause my eyes to run and skin to itch, just when sitting unopened in my kitchen at home. I have purchased a small bottle of Elsan Organic and I have the same problem with that.
I get the same reaction in the presence of air fresheners, and I use 'unperfumed' toileteries.
Can anyone suggest what to do, please? (Other than using the public toilets!)
