Ok as i am wading into another mine field I feel.

I need to purchase a TV.

We intend travelling into Europe at times

Whats going to be the best set up, I would like something automated. I dont want to be watching TV while my wife is standing on the car roof on one leg because it gets the best picture ?

(it will be me up there to be honest)

So a system that we can switch on and it does all the searching for us, without having to read 15 chapters of fast set up directions.

So good set up that is user friendly and more than adequate viewing for them bad weather nights,if possible a prefixed Ariel or receiver too.

Any ideas to point me in the right direction

Hi, first off let me say that I am in agreement with the other posters and your self.

I have as others wasted hours trying to get a signal when I could hav just sat and chilled but my wife likes to see the UK news so have persevered.

In order to make things easier I ditched the old Sky box I had been given and bought a Cello Satellite TV, as in the sat tuner is built in.

We have been pleased with the TV ,it is a lot cheaper than an Avtex, and the setup is certainly easier with all UK channels available via a 60 cm dish in the Landes region last year.

Last year our friends, who liked the TV, bought a Cello that is a Smart TV so that he can connect to it and view things like, I believe, Netflix, Sky etc.

As we dont have any TV subscriptions its no advantage to us but may be suitable for you. This is the one that they have;
