We wanted a porch awning that was relatively cheap, roomy, light and easy to put up. So after looking at various awnings we settled on a Riviera Swift 350 Porch Awning which we bought in may

First impressions were very good the instructions are very brief but the first time we put it up it only took us about 25 Min's 2nd time was quicker it really is very easy to put up and feels roomy Smile

One night it rainned hard when we got up in the morning we were pleasently surprised everything was bone dry Smile

so whats wrong with this awning Frown

We found a few niggles there are no internal roof poles or straps so you have nowhere to hang a light.or whatever.when we were looking around the outside of the awning we noticed a rip on the corner where the external roof pole fits.so we took some pics. when we got home we took it back to the supplier showed them the pics and they replaced the awning no quibble what so ever

I thought I may of put to much tension on the external poles so on the next holiday when we put the awning up we were extra careful.

one night was a bit breezy and when we checked the awning in the morning it had started to rip in the same place so we took it back and changed it for a Riviera St Tropez which has an internal frame but is quite a bit smaller and heavier

such a shame because the Riviera really did suit our needs maybe we were just unlucky

would be interesting to know if anyone else has had the same problem
