Rear awning poles

Hello everyone.

We arrived at our site,  very efficient check in, found a serviced pitch, perfect for catching the afternoon/evening sunshine, hubby got the awning up quickly and we then made tea and sandwiches - lovely.  Then time to finish off all the extra little jobs, rear awning poles -but oh dear a problem.  We have a Kampa Air Ace 300 and bought the poles only 3 years ago, but due to being locked down for much of the last 18 months the poles have only been used 4 times(I think) and the adjustment catch is broken.  I have searched with Mr Google's help, but it seems these parts are not available.  A call to Kampa also informed us that is the case.  We understand that Dometic and Kampa are one and the same and lots of things will have changed but we are very reluctant to have to buy a new set of poles.  Can anyone help, do you know where we may get this small part and we will not be a part of this throw away society.

Thanks to all who helped with being prepared for being on a serviced pitch,  Hubby worked it all out brilliantly.

Gill

I have a Kampa air 390, i am pretty sure those poles are an optional extra used to try to make the awning sit closer to the caravan sides, assuming only one set broken i would put the set that work at the entrance, assume you have a side entrance.

Kampa have a Limpet system that secures the apron to the side of the caravan with limpet like suckers, it comes as a complete kit, I have to say you need to punch holes in the apron bit that fits to side of caravan but  if you buy the complete kit it comes with a hole punchiing machine, I have used it in conjuction with the poles for a few years now , I also wrap the poles in that nice foam pipe insulation stuff that you can get from the like of BBQ, this then makes a very snug fit to site of van, not cheap but worked for me. good luck.
