Which are the best re-fillable gas cylinders.  We use very little so only need one cylinder.

I use very little gas also. 1kg would last me 20 nights away. I would not dream of having to go offsite with my only bottle of gas to find somewhere to refill. I carry two 3.9kg bottles of calor propane that I can usually replace easily on site.

I am away 120 nights a year and last year would have spent about £25 on gas. If buying same gas from pumps only cost me £8 it would take me around 10 years to break even. Not worth the effort of taking a bottle off site to fill for me

As has already been said Q, if you don't use much what's the point? A few years ago I believed all I was told and installed a full gaslow system on my motorhome. As I used a mixture of sites over a five year period, which included around 50 per cent wild camping, I found that when I downsized my van (no room for my gaslow kit) I was still out of pocket by a considerable sum. Your choice but do the sums first.wink

I dont use much gas but have a Safefill.

Reduces bottles from 2 to one and saves large amount of weight.

Fill it once a year for about £7 and can see when it is getting low as you can see the gas level.

Payback is about 7 years but weight saving and convenience is why I have it.

IMHO the principle advantage of refillables is the ability to obtain gas whilst abroad. If you stick with Calor, a prolonged stay abroad could be problematic.

Refilling abroad might become their only advantage the rate LPG facilities on forecourts in the UK are closing or banning them!

Pity, but seems locally that is their biggest problem.
