Power touch evolution

hi

having a pointless discussion with power touch regarding replacement covers, I have lost two both right hand side as you look from the front of the van. The replacement cost last time £25 , they push on and do appear very secure but either as they claim they get nicked or they were fitted wrong.

my point is why as they say they get requests for lost cover do they not make them more secure ie screwed fixed etc

looking on the internet the only ones for sale second hand are the left hand side this says to me that the right hand side is more susceptible to this issue, power touch do not agree and said amongst other comments internet is a load of rubbish.

the last straw has been now they no longer provide the cover as they have redesigned it and believe it or not they are now screw fixed but you have to buy both left and right hand side at a cost of £90 nice little earner for something which half of item is not require.

has anyone out there had a similar problem with these covers and which side?

Pointless conversation ended retlatively ok new part arrived today and fits ok and secured with a screw. Yes they are different in appearance to the existing ones but not fitting the other side, keeping the other side in case existing one falls off, I doubt it will as I am convinced it is a right hand side issue, got a message to call them and was offered a 50% refund , so that’s a result.

restored my faith in power touch

Right hand side from the front mean nearside which tells me that its probably because the wheels hitting the drainage grids in the gutters would cause more vibration on the side which was lost. Only a thought.

Thanks lornalou could be right it is a possible cause the new ones now have a screw holding them on so much improved, wouldn’t have thought they would have gone to the trouble had it not been an issue.

Thanks for your interest.
