Motormover Control unit

I believe the plastic of my motormover control unit has degraded, as its extremely 'tacky' to the touch and no amount of cleaning it helps. Has anyone else had similar and found a cleaner that has removed this or has degradation gone more than skin deep.

I’ve had plastic items which have gone that way. I don’t think you can remove the sticky but possibly coat or wrap it in something. Maybe a protective powder of some sort?

One positive of its stickiness is that it’s less likely to fall off if you leave it on the A-frame🤣🤣

No matter what it is, there's always a positive laughing

Like you say, I think some sort of wrap. I have had this before with a cheap pair of binoculars, made them totally unusable.

Binoculars - me too - and it happened to my Sony video camera back in the day when we bought such things with their cassette films.

Restored to its former glory, internet search weeded out something I had in the cupboard and that was Bicarbonate of Soda. Add water to make a thick paste and apply rubbing with finger, of course my controller was flat/curved and an easy shape, but like new.

Same with ours, plus displays have packed up rendering both our evoke & sirocco 550 unusable
