Just been down to check daughter's caravan in readiness for new season. Been there since November with no charging what so ever during this period. Out of interest measured battery it is showing 12.39 volts. What does this tell me about the state of it? Any advice welcomed,

Cheers DD. She's a good cook mind but does the 'recipe' call for distilled or deionised water. She'll need only a small amount, where best to purchased said stuff?

Deionised water every time but not in my tipple?

Deionised water available from Tesco at about £1.50 for 2.5l or Lidl Portugal at about £0.60 for 6.0l.  Rip off Britain is alive and well yell.

PS If you need 6.0l or even 2.5l I suspect there may be something wrong with the battery undecided.

It appears to need alittle over an eggcup full I reckon. Can I make ice cubes out of what's left, hate to waste it at that price, just for the gin you understand!wink

Quick update, just returned to caravan, 3 weeks off charge and now reading 12.8volts. More confident and about to plug into EHU.smile

Just another quick update having been out a couple of times and then back in storage for more than a fortnight off charge and no solar I've just tested battery. It's reading 13.4 volts. It seems to have improved with use and care, is that possible?

I reckon it's probably pretty good then and may last another 4 years given that extra TLC.

Thanks for the advice, support and tips.w

It's looking good as I thought it would wink, but don't leave it too long between charges and do now give it another full session (cycle) with a smart charger.  Alternatively £2k - £3k will get you an Li setup winklaughing.

Treat it well and it will give good service.

Not really.  I started doing public service in the early 80's and have done so since then with a few breaks, but more on than off.  I think I've done my bit wink.  Anyway I doubt that they would want me laughing.
