Hi all, Club member for 15 years but new on "Club Together".

My problem is that I have mislaid my battery isolator and we are off on Friday, I hope to get one somewhere tomorrow, but Glasgow is not awash with Caravan parts stockists, in the event that I do not get one, is there a way round this apart from dismantling everything in the van..ie: is there another household device/tool that would adapt to turning the battery on to the mover...tia.

These isolator switches are widely used in industry.  Anyone else needing one can add to caravan and boat shops any automobile parts retailer - even larger branches of Halfords.

In the compartment with the MM isolator and the mains plug-in there are 4 (I think) screws with just the heads showing. I removed one of these screws and then replaced it  first passing it through the hole on one of the handles of a "bulldog" clip. When not in use I clip the red key into the bulldog clip where it is always ready for use as needed. It also does not rattle around as it would if attached to a tether in the compartment.

On the same theme I thought the best place to keep the isolator key would be in the battery locker where the switch is. However on the first trip with the key in the locker the extra vibration caused the small metal pin in the key to work loose and fall out. Luckily I found the pin and all was good but the key now travels in a draw in the caravan.
