Help! Mover problem.

Well the van's been in for its annual service today. Got it there, job done, got it home OK. Went to use the mover to position it on the drive and .......nothing doing, no power....grrrr!

When I checked the battery compartment the problem was obvious - there was a blue wire (from the mover) dangling free! Double grrrr!

Now I think I know how to fix this, but just need to check with anyone in the know. It looks as if the blue wire just screws into the negative terminal of the battery. Does that sound right? Any advice gratefully received.

BTW this is the second year where we've brought it back and discovered a problem - so next year we're going to get it done one the drive by a (accredited) mobile engineer.

Hi Moulesy,  Trevor says sounds right, there are 2 wires, is the other one still connected to the +terminal?

Yes, it is, so hopefully not a big problem, just a bloomin' inconvenience!

On powerwheel movers the blue cable is negative and the brown positive.

Hi Moulesy

As above, the blue wire goes on the negative terminal. Obviously they've disconnected the battery at service and only connected the necessaries afterwards. It's a common gripe speaking to members on site, just make sure the terminals are proper tight after you reinstall.

Thanks for your replies. Problem sorted this morning - simple enough to do, just took 5 minutes with a screwdriver. Just annoying that it hadn't been done and checked at the end of the service. If we'd been taking it straight back to the store we'd have been totally screwed!

Still, lesson learned and there's one leading Bailey dealership in the South West who won't be getting my custom next year.

At least you got it fixed mate! Sometimes I think I could do a better job of servicing my 'van!
