Elecsol Batteries

Has anyone else had issues with Elecsol?   I bought a new motorhome with an Elecsol battery, after 6months the battery seemed not to be working correctly.  I had the battery tested at another motorhome dealer and they said it was faulty.

I contacted Elecsol in Septemeber and they approved a replacement.  Since then emails have been bouncing back and forth (the majority get ignored), they wanted to send a driver to perform the exchange, then when that did not happen I offered to drive the 1hr trip to their premises which was initially declined.  Then after more emails they said that I could take it across for an exchange on the 2nd of Jan, which I did - and guess what the office was closed and did not reopen until the 3rd.  I spoke to the guy on the phone and he told me to leave the battery outside with an address to send a replacement to - I did this, and I am still waiting.    I have spoken to them again, and they say its the sales dept that need to sort it out, they will ring me back - they dont.

It seems that the office in the Wirral is a one man band. He is very abrupt never says hello when he answers the phone and cant get rid of you fast enough.  The first time I rang I was told to send an email then he hung up.  I sent a mail to the address he said then got a mail back saying ring a different number, which I did - guess what the same guy answered, and told me to send a mail to a different email address!

Elecsol sell their batteries with a 5yr guarantee but I cant get them to replace a battery in 6 months.  I have googled Elecsol and customer complaints and it seems that this is a common issue.

Trying to find Elecsol the manufacturer is impossible you can only find the UK distribution office address which is not a factory - I have been.

Has anyone else been in a similar position and managed to get a replacement from them - if so how did you do it?

I must confess I do feel annoyed as on their website they have statements saying that they are Caravan Club endorsed which would imply they are a good company to deal with, which is not my experience or many others on google.
