Dorema Quick Lock Pads

Has anyone else suffered from Dorema-type quick lock pads coming free of the awning beading during only moderate winds? On inspecting my new pads it seems that even when they are very fully tightened the jaws are flexible enough to allow the beading to slip out. 

I have now changed the pads for the Campion brand as supplied by NR Awnings and hope for much better results.
