Hi Everyone,

As we now have the caravan on a seasonal site, we bought a tv & sat dish, it appears now that we  need a Digital satellite receiver.

Any recommendations would be helpful.

Cheers.

if you're certain your TV doesnt have a sat input (and built in decoder/tuner) then you will need a seperate box.

i would suggest a Twin LNB for your dish (this gives two seperate feeds) and a twin feed recordable box which allows for viewing one channel while recording another, or recording two channels at the same time,

those from Humax have a good reputation. others branded Freesat would do the job.

of course, if you're already a Sky subscriber you can take your Sky+ box with you or purchase one on ebay etc...(but you DO need to be a subscriber for the box to work fully)

The Avtex TV we have has a built in satellite receiver which is handy as you don't need any other boxes around. If you already have a TV and all you want to do is watch, but not record, then the Manhattan is a fairly inexpensive way forward. They also do a receiver/record which is also quite inexpensive.
