Cool My Camper

Just wondering if anyone ever bought one of these?

I had a proper unit in my motorhome, but thats been sold, and I missed having it in our caravan last year.  We have a seasonal pitch this year, and hoping to spend a lot more time away that last year - so I'm keen on getting some aircon sorted.  But this "Cool my Camper" is about 1/4 the price of fitting a typical unit - plus I can bring it home and replace the noisy unit I have in my house.

Anyone ever used one?  Were they any good?  Did they last beyond the first year?

Thanks.

PS: I'm a big fan of aircon, so please, no replies about how you don't need/want aircon in the UK.  I do.

I bought a 'Transcool' at the show last spring. Have used it several times to good effect. Portable, 12v and easily used.

Not a fan of evaporative coolers - had one years ago, and you just traded being dry and hot for being damp and warm.

I have one and have described it <here>

I have mixed feelings about it, its a bit cumbersome to get out of the car and fit in place   mainly because the hoses connecting the two units cannot for obvious reasons be undone, so both units have to be maneuvered and is much easier with two people however it should be absolutely fine  in a static situation. We do take ours with us  to Portugal where we will stay 6 weeks on one site  but rarely set it up for less and in the Autumn when its generally cooler anyway I dont take it.

If you want to know more contact me through my website I will be pleased to help.

Thanks.  I think I'd read your reviews elsewhere as the Portugal comments ring a bell.

Have to say that's not my experience with the transcool
