Calor gas lite

I very much like having the electric ring. When doing a casserole/stew on the hob it is far more controllable for a slow simmer as the gas is a tad too fierce for some things. I have on occasion used all 4 rings but generally 3 suffice. 

I think we have used our electric ring about 4 times in 11 years. Although we are always on EHU. Much prefer cooking on gas, once off its off. Which is very useful on a small hob and in a van with minimal work surfaces. Although as ET says it will simmer well, once very hot it takes an age to cool down. 

Merve, we only have three burners (sufficient) and are all gas (no hopeless, slow electric effort), this is the default position for most european brands.....whereas uk brands will 'always' have an electric hotplate.

i realise this will cut down choice, but euro vans seem to do the job pretty well...

we've never required more than 2 rings at any one time, i have a 'tower' steamer which is great.
