Bulldog leveller any good ?

Yes they do work but they are bulky, heavy and hard work.  I had one once when we had our caravan and only used it once.  Went back to the trusty ramps, much easier.

I agree with JD. We had one and, tbh, a wedge or block is easier to use and does not put unusual pressure on the tyre. The Bulldog is not suitable for all wheel sizes and sinks in soft ground. Also, if used on uneven ground, the frame can distort.

Seemingly good ideas are not always practical, the Alko underslung wheel carrier is another example.

 Prefer blocks. Easier to store and use for me. Bulky and heavy kit that I would use 1 in 10 pitch - ups

we have one and if you want pin point precision then use it and not worry about reversing up ramps . we used to use it for longer stays as in two/three weeks. Now we use ramps each time. Get the largest (as in handle length) ratchet to make thing a little easier. However if you have a mover then ramps are easier. Just hold the ramp as the caravan goes up or it will twist.

The Bulldog leveller has always looked very hard work to me.

A plastic wedge (or planks of wood) do the job and you can let the car do the hard work, by simply pulling the caravan onto them.

That said, we hardly ever need to level the caravan side to side - maybe once in every 5 years.

You seem to confirm what I suspected was the case, ie a good idea in principal but in practice not worth the effort

Previously I had a selection of pieces of hardwood to use as levellers

I will continue with the tried and trusted methods :-)

PS agree re the Alko spare carrier, I am struggling with that item also ;-)

The Lock n Level is even easier! 

I just had a look at that device, not having heard of it before

Seems like a nice thing to have but at £90 its not cheap is it
