Best Dash Cam Please?

, The one i purchased from the R.A.C ,works well !! Reasonably priced too .

I bought a nextbase dash cam 212 from halford 69.99 at the moment it also has a slide on mount so you cane leave the sucker on the window.

We've got a Transcend Drive Pro 100. Comes with either sticky mount or sucker and a micro sd card. We got the sucker version. Paid around £50.

Some of the cheap options are rubbish. Check out Techmoan as he reviews various dash cams, both cheap and expensive.

I have a Nextbase 402G which works very well.  Depends what you are wanting it for but I would put recording the GPS information  as a useful addition.

I have Nextbase 420g camera's in my M/H, car and van and all have given trouble free recording for the last 2 years , not the cheapest ,but good clear playback. 

I have a Nextbase 312GW dash cam in my car and it works well, but I want to put one in my Bessacarr motorhome. It will have to be wired in because the satnav occupies the only 12v socket. The problem is that a windscreen mounted dash cam would prevent the closure of the  internal blinds on my Bessacarr motorhome. Does anybody know of a dash cam that can be mounted securely on the dashboard rather than the windscreen?

If you only have 1 cigar lighter socket you can buy an adapter that converts it to 2 or 3 sockets. I only have 1 dash cam that I swap from vehicle to vehicle. In both vehicles I have fitted the cables semi permanently. The cables run from the interior mirror along the top of the windscreen, down the N/S A pillar and under the dash to the cigar lighter socket. Discreet bluetack keeps the cable in place along the windscreen and cable ties as required elsewhere.
When using the internal cab blinds in the MH I do have to remove the dash cam and also the sat nav. I prefer this to having something permanently mounted on the dash. A camera mounted on the dash would have to be close to the windscreen to prevent reflections and this may be difficult to achieve. Also, being closer to the demister vents, it could become very hot. I have had my Tom Tom sat nav display an over heating warning because of this.

Thanks, peegeenine. Your points about needing to mount the dash cam close to the windscreen to avoid reflection and the consequent risk of overheating are well taken. Does your frequent removal and re-attachment of the dash cam and sat nav from and to the windscreen reduce the grip of the suction pads on the windscreen?

BobE, the nextbase 512g has a polarised filter that cuts out glare, it's adjustable too. I have the 512g, full HD 1080p playback on a TV or Tablet, the anti glare is excellent
