Never owned a mover, remoska, etc.....

We started touring life in a very small camper van. To this day, the humble on board porta potti (precursor to the fancy electric fitted in cassette loos) remains our most valued bit of kit! 😁

CS said -  it came with huge plastic containers that had to be carried,

I've had 2 of those plastic containers split when carrying it onto the trolley. Not funny (well a little bit I suppose for those watching) having an unintentional foot bath.surprisedlaughing

A Leatherman Wave multitool. Use it almost every day. Had it for 15 years, then broke the nose off a pliar, had it replaced for free under lifetime guarantee. Delighted.

When we had an Elddis Crusader the best accessory was my tool box, with lots of different screw drivers electric tape and at times a degree in plumbing. 😊

Another accessory I wouldnt be without now is a rear view camera mound on the back of the van. Still have the mirrors but the camera beats them "hands down"  in traffic to see who is tucked up close behind , when lane changing or reversing.

I keep thinking about them. How does your caravan's camera 'talk' to the screen in the car? I'd just be reluctant to have a stand alone screen perched on the dash or stuck to the screen with its associated wiring

I have tried several methods. A wired system is the most reliable but more of a faff installing, it needs a cable run through the length of the outfit and another plug joint at the towbar point. I have done it several times but now have a wireless system. The monitor is separate with associated wires and the camera and transmitter at the rear of the van needs a 12v supply when traveling. Much of the 12v system is isolated in the van the but the fridge supply could be used or as I do a feed off the battery

These two pictures illustrate the exact same view from a camera and from a mirror

I have this on my Coachman, it is called a rear window.

From the drivers seat in my Sorento, i can see through the caravan and out through the rear window, perhaps in a more elongated view than via a camera but it works laughing I find it most useful when returning to lane after overtaking, but i still look for that friendly flash from the HGV's.
