Hi All,

Re: Bailey Unicorn II Leisure Battery Dimensions?

I require a replacement leisure battery for my Bailey Unicorn II (2013/14). And I was wandering if anyone knew the dimensions of the battery size required. I would normally just measure myself, but my leg is in plaster for 6 weeks and I can't get to the storage unit. Our caravan is also fitted with a quad mover, so need a strong reliable battery.

Thanks

We have a Unicorn 2 Cadiz. I could measure it, but I have no idea if they fitted the same size battery compartment on all models. From your OP I assume your U2 is the double axle variant. It could have a larger compartment. Hopefully someone with the same van will be along shortly.

This is what Bailey have said.

The dimensions are 354x175x190mm

Those figures seem  low and I certainly would not get my fairly standard 100 amp battery in.

The usable space, as there are ridges in the plastic, on the one fitted to our Cadiz is:-

L 410 mm

D 196 mm

H 250 mm

My Numax battery size is, L295 D165 H inc terminals 220.

Is there not someone you can get to go and check?

Why do manufacturers persist in fitting the smallest battery space/gas locker that they think they can get away with? It removes the flexibility if an owner wants bigger batteries/ gas bottles or is it part of 'orange cable syndrome'?

Sorry my mistake, I have just noticed you were quoting battery dimensions. I thought  you were giving the compartment size. As you can see from the dimensions I gave, your battery size would fit OK in our Cadiz.
