So I have been a caravanner for just over a week, and there is one topic that is driving me mad!

We have purchashed with our van a new Dormera Daytona Awning, please can someone tell me what do I put on the floor inside???  Breathable is a must I`m aware, but what about rain? condensation? wee beasties? I`ve heard that many conflicting suggestions, I just may lay used euro pallets inside!! Yell

We just put a groundsheet down! I know it's not breathable but it works! Then put some tiles on top.

Never had an issue with a site yet - in my mind it's no differnt to having a big tunnel tents which all have fixed ground sheets. Of course sure the CC wouldn't be too pleased for a long stay on club sites! But usually only there a couple of days.

Our kids like to sleep in awning - we have a couple of end bedrooms now but in the past we have used a cheap pop-up tent to provide a bit of shelter/warmth/privacy in awning

If you use a non breathable groundsheet on a grass pitch then it is vital you lift it regularly. If you are a member of C&CC you will see the damage tents do to pitches.

Personally I would not allow groundsheets on grass pitches.

Same for me. Groundsheet followed by inter locking foam tiles. Makes a wonderfully soft warm floor!

Ive seen how the grass turns yellow with a tent on it for a few weeks. Then how it remarkably recovers within a week or so.

Friends own a C&CC CL and just ask people not to put tent on exact same spot someone has just vacated

I simply dont understand how people can be so uncaring about the grass pitches that they are using.  To leave an unsightly mess like some do, gives no consideration to the next members welfare

So called breathable carpets don't seem to work anyway and I agree with Wildwood that no carpet at all is best on grass.
