Awning Zip repair

Hi all, our unit is an American Folding Camper with an add-a-room awning. Unfortunately whilst camping in Wareham the storm that whipped up and blew away a few cobwebs last Summer also knackered the main front zip. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend an awning repair firm, or equivalent, that could replace the zip for us? We live in the Portsmouth area so something local would be handy. Cheers, Phill

Most horse people would know a local canvas expert, however  caravan dealers normally know the awning specialists?

Thanks, the camper came in via the back of an RAF Hercules about 20 years ago so the awning was purchased new in the US! Unfortunately the company that converted it to being UK road legal have long since ended trading and did not deal with awnings either. My cousin has a horse so I'll have a chat with her.

What about trying one of the local sailmakers. Flew Sailmakers at Wicormarine in Portchester does some 'non-sail' stuff.

Here's one in Portsmouth which sounds just what you're looking for.

I can't find anything else about the company though.

There are awning repair companies who will take an awning, or a panel, and make a repair. Triopair at Pontefract are one local to us, and have some courier arrangement to pick up and deliver the repaired awning.  They do a very good job of repair and replacement but they aren't cheap.

Thanks All, I used Flew sails as it was local to me and they did a great job on our awning. It survived 9 days of Wet and Windy Wales so all in all a success. Phill

I have just used Triopair to increase the size of the awning for a new van.  An outstanding job
