Awning with caravans with new flush awning rails.

I have a Swift Conqueror 2011 model with new flush awning rails, thus the awning rail does not run to the bottom of the caravan, which means that the awning hangs from the bottom feeder point  leaving an untidy amount to flap around. Has anyone else had this problem and how have you overcome it.? Also the awning skirt will not fit to from  front to the back end end of the van due to the plastic sealing cover.
