I can't say I'm "experienced" but I read on here or somewhere, that screw in peg are best.
I have to agree, except I bought coach bolt type screws and washers
All you need is an adaptor for a cordless drill (oh yeah you need one of those as well, but also useful for winding the steadies)
I can't be bothered with all the banging in and trying to pull them back out ... I can peg (screw?) out my Air ace in a fraction of the time I could with a hammer!
Even makes light work on a CC (sorry CAMC) hardstanding and they are like concrete!

A significantly cheaper option than rock pegs is just use bolts.
I use M10 x 200mm bought from Tool Station for (I think) £1.60 with some M10 penny washers so the guylines don't slip off. Never found any surface they wont screw into (using a cordless drill) even when staying the bottom of an old quarry where the surface was a mixture of rock and old tarmac.
