Awning Pegs

We're about to dive into the world of awnings. We've decided on the Kampa air awning. A friend said we should get better pegs than those supplied with the awning. I've been looking and there seems to be screw in or large nail types. Do the screw in pegs need a cordless drill to use (I don't have a drill). We mostly pitch on hardstanding so will the nail type pegs be enough.

Thanks

I find a good steel shafted claw hammer the best option for driving pegs and for removal. The length of the shaft makes it easy to deliver a forceful blow by the ease in increasing the striking speed at the head. For me easier on the wrist than a lump hammer. Peg extraction easy too. Insert claw under peg and stand on the head of the hammer and up she comes

Try the ones that look like a giant size nail with a bar on the top. I they are the best and have tried lots.

I agree, I have also tried a lot. Aldi occasionally sells them in boxes.

Indeed, I remember posting that the were exactly the same (I posted pics) as the ones sold at my local dealer yet half price

+1 for JVB66 - the ALDI ones that look like big nails work great and are cheap enough, I have two sets.

The screw in ones are rubbish in my experience!

I just use a large claw hammer, great for getting the pegs out too!
