Avtex TV Satellite receiver

Purchased Avtex TV with sat receiver a few months ago and when connected to my Arcon 430cm  dish will not receive all channels, I have used the dish for years with my old equipment and it works perfectly with these and my house TV and Freesat box. The Avex works ok with my house sky dish so I purchased a 60cm dish which should be more than adequate but it is the same, some channels missing, Avtex have had the TV back twice and said there was nothing wrong with it.

It appears to me that the Avtex receiver is not as sensitive as all my other equipment, has anyone else had the same problem,

Vulcan

What channels are missing? We don't seem to be able to get ITV HD as channel 3 or channel five but both are available further don't the listing. I could edit my channel listing but haven't bothered yet!

Are you using the old LMB from the Arcon on the new dish, just a thought? Don't know the Arcon.

No, I am using a new LNB. Arcon LNB is different

Oh well, just a thought! Hope it's sorted soon. Puzzling as it works on the house dish & LNB. It's a question of eliminating the other 'variables' and you've done that with the receiver itselfI reckon so what's left, the dish, cabling, connections, spectfic Sat array? I'm stumped! Good luck.

Vulcan, have you adjusted the skew of the LNB? if you look at your Sky dish, you'll see its angled towards 7 o clock...ie, turned clockwise from the vertical..this is important and is part of the dish 'tuning'.

with a poorly aligned LNB the first channels you lose will be the HD versions...

when i got my dish installed on my van, i tested it at home and was missing a couple of HD channels incl BBC...I realised the LNB needed adjustment and thos resolved it.

Thanks, yes I have done all the usual things and as I said the dish works ok with other receivers.

As you say, as the Avtex works fine with the house dish then the issue it seems is not with this receiver. Let us know when this mystery is solved, best of luck!
