We have an Avtex L199DRS-PRO in our campervan, installed by the converter in November 2018.  Preparing for a trip this February, I found that the remote for the TV no longer worked (not batteries!) so contacted Avtex, who provided a free replacement.  Checking again yesterday before our first trip after lockdown ended, the replacement remote has itself failed (again not batteries).  Again, Avtex are sending a free replacement.  Has anyone else had a similar problem?  Is there some protocol for storing the remote which isn't in the user manual?  I'm not happy that two remotes fail in the same year, the second after being used on one three day trip and then having sat idle in the van from March to July.  Any thoughts, people?

Different Avtex TV's, but probably similar remotes. The first a 19 inch model was supplied with our Bailey caravan in 2014. Remote still working. The second a 16 inch ultra lightweight one we bought for our MH in March 2019. Similar remote to the 2014 model. That was also still working when we last took the van to a site in March this year. No special storage, we always leave the batteries in.

We had our Avtex 19" for about 4 years with no problems with the remote and we all ways remove the batteries for storage, a lesson we learnt years ago with the caravan mover remote don't leave them in or use cheap batteries, fiddly job repairing them yell
