i am just in the process of buying a new van and i have sold my old van with the hitch lock as it was getting a little rusty, looking on the club shop they are around £190 and some other caravan shops are near the same price however i have found a number of outlets on Ebay selling these in silver brand new marked as Alko and they are around £75 has anyone had any experience with the ones on Ebay

just to note the selling is claiming all his items are genuine Alko products he also sells the 3004 hitch so all does seem good and the reviews left are also 5 star

Alko make 3 different hitch locks. The grey one which is made from relatively thin steel, the red one which is better quality steel and the most common and the premium black one which is made from high quality alloy steel, about 10mm thick and has a steel bolt about 39mm diameter keeping it in place. I went for the premium one when we bought our latest van.

Attached image which I found in the club shop listed at £116.10 members price, which is about £10 less tan I paid on ebay 4 years ago. definately worth the money.

thank you for that i did wonder what the difference was between the red and the grey one although it does make you wonder why the grey one is £194 on the club shop surely that should be the cheapest.

i do like the look of the one you have bought yourself and doesn't seem a bad price on the club shop so i think that's the one i will go for.
