Alde control - battery backup

I have just fitted an Alde back-up battery (two AA bateries in a small holder that plugs into the back of the Alde control panel.

All I can say is brilliant. It not only means that the day/time is maintained when the power is off, but also keeps the day and night settings switched on.

So you just need to power-up and turn on the Alde control panel. Nothing else to do!

Don't know why they're not fitted as standard.

Neither SWMBO nor I sleep well in warm rooms; we very much like it around 15°C-16°C, others may be the same undecided.

Very similar DD. If staying in a hotel room I normally kill the heating. I could happily sleep on top of the bed in jim jams at 20C but not under any bedding.

I just hop out of bed and crank it all up about half an hour before OH sticks her nose out from under the duvet.

If using gas then I can see the point of turning down the heating during the night, but if using EHU to run the heating then why turn it down, just leave set to same temp and have a luxury caravan 24hr a day.

The colder the better for us, about 19c during the day and set to 8c at night.

At home we sleep under a 4.5 tog duvet with the window open even in winter.

positive lead from battery goes to positive terminal on the panel, there is a wiring diagram in the panel to guide you

Just had an e-mail from EBay that the Alde back up system has been reduced by £3:45 still with free delivery. I wonder if they’re reading CT!
