i have bought our first twin axle caravan and it doesn’t come with a battery i am having power touch twin motor movers fitted and would love some advice on a decent battery. The caravan dealership only have one type which is a Monbat 110 ah and I have also looked at the Halfords HLB 750 which is 100ah but really don’t have much experience of knowing which would suit the best or if i should be looking at others and help would be very much appreciated

I'm not sure what you mean by a solar generator but I imagine it to be somewhat more technically complex than a car battery and therefore worthy of failure investigation.  Bearing in mind Tayna sell thousands of batteries every year I guess they are not too concerned about the occasional defective unit.  It's probably not commercially worth worrying about.  How much is a 200w solar generators compared with a car battery?

I think a solar generator is an inverter battery pack with one or more solar panels which would be great if going off grid unless i have this completely wrong lol

You’ve got it spot on W👍🏻. Different sizes & powers can be purchased. They take all sizes of SP’s in series too(once they are checked for suitability) they are truly useful bits of kit too, ideal for power outages, off grid living & wild camping.

If this site is typical then they are an expensive piece of kit.

Not quite typical, a quick google search shows them starting at £125, £179, and on Amazon starting for about £360. As with others things there are expensive ones and cheaper ones I imagine. Rocky will be the expert as he used them.

If anyone wants to make a long term investment & eventually a killing MrC-Solar generators are the way forward. It needs forward looking vision to get the best from them, once bought it’s all free from the sun. The solar panels are cutting edge too, back in the day it was no sun no power-not now👍🏻. It’s for the thinkers & planners who like it quiet & wild👍🏻
