Used MH, but all new to me!

My family is used to long weekends in tents, but now want to purchase a used motorhome for a european tour (up to 6 months- first stop scandinavia). A quick trip to the NEC this week has convinced us that we need bunk beds for the kids (3 & 11) and would probably go for a 6 berth. I expect to pay up to £30k. The chausson flash 03 looks possible. Any thoughts or other suggestions gratefully received. Ps- as licence is not an issue, should I really be concerned about going over 3500kg? thanks.
