Like TinTent my motorhome has been listed as having one axle for the past 6 years. It is very unclear what is meant but I wonder if the want warning of tag axle motorhomes to warn staff they may need to organise a pitch capable of taking the weight?

a single or twin axle vehicle is obviously only referring to those axles at the rear. And if a vehicle is referred to a twin wheeler it has two wheels at each end of each axle. And would a twin axle not spread its weight better than a single on a given pitch?
