Streak marks

Can anyone help with an annoying problem that I have with the bodywork on my Autotrail motorhome. It's mainly white in colour, but there is a large graphite portion at the front. Where the rain runs off the roof at one particular point there is an ugly streak mark down the side on the graphite coloured area. I've tried black mark remover and of course various polishes but without success. Has anyone had this problem and resolved it?

Is the graphite area spray painted or it it a vinyl  decal ? If the latter then a citrus based cleaner or slightly diluted isopropyl alcohol should remove the mark but try it on a small area first.

A 10:1 mix of Fenwicks caravan cleaner should do the trick.  Spray on leave a few minutes then wash off.  Works for me.

The area I'm talking about is a vinyl decal. What's a citrus base cleaner Dave? Tell me you don't mean Cif? I'd rather use sandpaper as my wife suggests! And what is isopropyl alcohol. Do Halfords sell it? I've tried Fenwicks as comeras suggested but it didn't work.

This is a duplication of the thread in 'Motorhomes' - to which I have already replied.  Can one of the Mods combine the two?

I don't know why it was taken off 'Motorhomes' and ended up in 'Parts & Accessories!!

Sorry H. I didn’t make it very clear. Citrus based cleaner is often sold as a tar or tree sap remover. You can certainly buy it at Halfords. We have the same problem with the decals on our M/H and it removes the streaks instantly. I can’t give you a brand name because we always buy ours in Italy.

I’ve no idea why your post was moved! It was perfectly fine where it was and it took me some time to find it again.

Hope you get the problem sorted.

Try Muc Off Bike cleaner in a small area first, also make sure that you wet the area before applying, spray it on give it a good scrub and wash off. Might work.

There may be other sources, but one can usually obtain Isopropyl Alcohol from a chemist/pharmacy.
