From taking a few of these to bits it’s the case that lets the damp in. They just don’t seal them very well. The latest one I have bought is one of the small cube ones without any LEDs. It’s sealed and no way into it without recking it. Works a treat and not difficult to fit as the Laika has standard yellow push connector.
The Laika came originally with a round one with a lens that used to let damp in and mist up. Not expensive to change for a small cube one with 4 LEDs which worked but was not very clear. It did not mist up just not that good a picture so changed for one of the later ones that are good in the dark. Good picture.
if you take one to bits they all have the same CMOS chip in them. This has a square window in the top and they mount a lens over the window. The lens is adjustable and set in the factory.
Picture of Camera square peg in a round hole. Lined up carefully and then Sikaflex to seal it in place.
