Err, no. Have tried a few and there are none we've found that inspire confidence.  We don't bother with a hab service, only the mechanical service on the base vehicle.

We tried a mobile technician but he didn't really want to know and we've been disillusioned with others. So, sorry, but I can't really help.

Write your comments here...Thanks TW , I just had a feeling that was probably the case. Like yourself we only tend to do the mechanical service since the van has been out of warranty but we were thinking of down sizing the van hence the habitation service.

If you're trading it in p/ex I wouldn't bother to have it serviced, personally, or were you meaning future services on the new van?

If you want REALLY GOOD Service try Southdowns Motorhomes in Portsmouth. What a great bunch of people and they always put the customer first. Even down to sending a couple of parts ( Under Warantee ) out by post for me to fit. I know it's a long way from Cornwall BUT we travel down from Notts. We park outside and they have an electric hookup for visitors and FREE Coffee

That's one hell of a distance, Q4. If the OP is happy to travel there are dealers/technicians in Devon and, particularly, Somerset who offer the hook up over night service. It's good to hear you've found a decent dealer though.

We never have our habitation service done. If everything works as it should, then why bother? The p/x dealer will give it a full service before selling on, that's what happened when we bought our used MH. If something is not working properly, then it might affect trade in price of course, but possibly weigh up pros and cons of getting a full hab check done. They don't check a great deal to be honest, just a huge con and a big fat price for stamping warranty book. Most things either work or they don't, if they do, then best not to meddle is our way of looking at things. Get repairs done as required.

We just p/ex'd one van for another.....

The dealer ran outside with a damp meter to check the old van, but there was no attempt to verify that everything was working, nor much interest in my "full service history".

I tend to agree that I can check everything works myself, I think the damp check to maintain any ingress warranty would be the only fair part of the deal, the rest is just extraction of money from you.....

I tend to agree with the above comments. We have previously had a habitation service which didn't achieve very much.

The base vehicle is serviced annually and I bought myself a damp meter which the industry uses on Ebay.

It was for the van we have now TW , we were thinking we might get knocked down if we did not have a hab service. We are not going to bother now with the service and have decided not to change the van just yet.
