motorhome awning winding

I wind it in a couple of feet with the legs down ,then move the legs in to the upright position, then wind in another couple of feet ,then move the legs in , then another foot and then fold the legs in to the rail and wind fully home ,always seems to wind in level,

When it stops thundering I will go out and try again.

It's always worth literally giving it a hand at the end that doesn't go home.

Due to the weight (35Kg?) we always support it to head height then the above if required..

An awning doesn't need to be supported by the legs when being wound in or out. That's not the problem you are experiencing. Uneven winding is Known problem with roller blinds.

Try winding out the awning to its maximum extent, the rewind slowly. If that fails, check that the the position of the extending arm pivot points haven't moved: there will be witness marks.

Finally, there's a video on the Fiammi website showing how to insert a strip of fabric to increase the rolling diameter at one end to correct the problem.

It's always easier to wind in if supported, either by second person, or by doing as HD does and using legs to give a bit of support. Just takes a bit of the strain off winding it in.
