Mis-aligned Ducato wing mirror

The double wing mirror on my Fiat Ducato cab is pointing in too far. I can't adjust the glass enough. Looking at the folding mechanism, there's a plate that defines where the mirror housing springs back to. If I push the housing forward, I can see properly, but it springs back.

Does anyone know if there's a way to adjust its positioning?

Thanks,

Pete

Which model Ducato do you have? The mirrors on my first Ducato, a 2005, are completly different to our current Ducato a 2008.  Hopefully someone will then be able to help.  The mirrors on my current van adjust as I go along and I've been told its a new mirror job to fix it, so I've done a diy modification.  The mirrors on the previous van sat in a detent, which was much better and never moved.

Its a 2004 2.3 JTD. The motorhome is a Lunar Champ A551. This one is a physical detent.

does the mirror look like it has been replaced at some time? I had a mirror on a german car replaced once and they fitted a european one rather than a uk one. due to the left hand versus right hand driver angle the mirror was useless as it was always turned in too much... apparently the part number was the same and it was just a rogue batch of the wrong ones had escaped to the UK..

That would be my first thoughts as well.
