Fitting a PIR sensor to the habitation

Hi.
I wonder if any members know how to connect a house PIR to the vehicle alarm system. I have seen it in another motorhome covering the habitation side, so know it must be possible. The alarm in the cab has a negative and positive triggers bonnet boot or doors such as connected to the interior light and would set off the alarm if the door is open. Making a full circuit in the pin switch. I wrongly assumed the PIR would send a positive or negative feed setting off the alarm. The Honeywell PIR I have purchased has C & NC. This circuit is always open and closes when the PIR is activated. I can't find any other makes that work I I need. My thought is to fit a relay to convert the open circuit to a triggered circuit. Do any members know of another way a can do this. Many thanks

I think what you are saying is your control unit is looking for a normally closed contact and an alarm is raised when the PIR opens these contacts. If this is the case you can buy PIRs which in the non alarm state have normally closed contacts in fact I thought that was how most operated??

A fellow member was telling me about a system similar to the Ring door bell alarms which trigger an alert on your phone. Battery life was weeks apparently. Unfortunately the name of the product alludes me.

Having fitted wired house alarms in the past,one part of your post says C (common) and NC ( normally closed) so that to me, is normally closed in the untriggered state,with the alarm set.

As soon as a trigger happens these contacts open.

I would have thought there should be at least another two terminals for case tamper as well.

I have my old wiring diagrams in the garage somewhere.
