Just booked our first ever habitation inspection for March 2018 for our Bolero 714 SB 7.77m when it will be a year old.

Didn't realize they want every locker and cupboard empty. On the one hand an absolute pain but good excuse to have a spring clean and not reload some stuff we never use.  tongue-out

There is a view that it is in your interest to present a present an "empty" motorhome particularly so that the damp testing can be fully carried out.

Additionally as you already say it is an opportunity to reassess your needs and possibly dispose of kit you do not need and then carefully and appropriately repack it.

Although I am sure that dealers are honest some  specify "an empty vehicle" to eliminate the risk of theft from the vehicle. In my experience dealers are not good at looking after the security of their customers vehicles e.g. leaving vehicle unlooked and/or with the keys in the ignition on the sun-visor or in the wheel-arch. Also many seem incapable of setting the alarm even where this is condition for insurance cover.

However for some owners this may not be possible because of the need to use the vehicle in Transit. For example when we had a Hymer it was a 700 mile round trip to Preston for a service.

Check your wheelnuts carefully as well, before you make your return journey.

I think it is a habitation check, they should not touch the base vehicle?

Paolo, i had my first two vans (Boleros) serviced at WCM....they are fine, certainly no worse than some places we hear of...

agree with BVM, emptying the van is good for the soulwink and makes the damp check far easier and speedier, i would think.

i will be having mine done in a fortnight and will have everything out....
