Eligibility for motorhome insurance in doubt..

We are buying a new motorhome.  The insurance company refuse insurance. It is a Fiat base customised here in the UK. In 25 years of such transactions what is the problem now.  Has the law changed. The dealer is a large reputable one and they don’t see why either.  Any clues, anyone?

Thanks for all your input. The V5 stated Fiat Van.  The dealer took photos and we had to send forms and photos to DVLA as the V5 was addressed to us.. that was now 2 weeks ago.  We have insurance now but crossing fingers the correction to the V5 is forthcoming.

Will keep you informed. 

(Incidentally the initial insurance refusal was through Lloyd’s.)
