OH reads a techy American forum and said that they have been testing a electric Ford Transit as a small camper and so far looking good wonder when it will reach the European market.

A bit smaller than my current moho and a fifth of the range. A fair way to go yet and unlikely in my driving lifetime quite apart from the cash involved.

JCB are putting a massive effort into hydrogen vehicles.  See U Tube ‘ Harry’s Farm’ episode

Hydrogen could be an ideal solution but as I understand the situation it is (thus far) the inability to produce it in sufficient quantity and economically. One of the reasons for going with electric cars, rather than hydrogen, was that it was cheaper to produce electrical power to charge batteries than the amount of electricity require to produce hydrogen. Obviously technology moves on all the time and at some point in the future that could reverse but it doesn't seem to be on the horizon in the immediate future?

We have an all electric JCB on trial in work, and it is very popular.

JCB will ( or possibly already have) come to realise that Hydrogen is a non starter....

And haven't Toyota just sacked their CEO for backing hydrogen ( the Toyota Mirai) instead of focussing on EV's...

The march onwards of EV's is relentless.......laughing
