I have owned from new an Elddis Autoquest 120 for 5/6 years. It has around 23k miles on the clock. Although we  love the layout and facilities of the vehicle, we are constantly having problems with it. To name but a few: replacement water pump twice, replacement toilet pump, replacement electric heating switch, intake of water problems, fridge on gas problems, problems with gas fire, rubber trim outside coming away from vehicle. It seems that we have to book in for repair so frequently.

I now want to replace with a new motorhome, but with my experience of this Elddis vehicle am wondering if other owners have experienced similar problems, or is thIs just bad luck. Should I buy a different make?

Mmm, it sounds like you might be best keeping the van you've got. I'm also still at work and have only managed 2,300 miles in ours this year. With this van we fully intend to keep it as long as it's on the road, I'm sick of changing and giving money away

As far as cleaning my roof I have some of those ladders you can buy that also turn into a platform to walk on. I use the platform along the sides and if I do need to go higher the ladder goes against the top rail along the side of the van - I have pipe insulation on the ladder edge so it doesn't scuff the van. I then use an extendable car wash brush that attaches to the hose. It's not high pressure. I also tend to use Fenwicks caravan cleaner and Bobby dazzler for the best, longer lasting finish so I don't have to be up there as often. Twice a year generally keeps our roof clean. All part of the fun of motorhoming
