Ducato Injector Problem.

Of all the things that can go wrong, intermittent faults are the ones I fear the most. The fault generally doesn’t perform to order, so you can never be 100% sure it’s been properly diagnosed or fixed. At least the ODP fault log gives you a place to start. Driving along in my 2018 Ducato the other day and a message ‘check engine’ flashed up accompanied by the engine symbol fault light. Power dropped off dramatically (barely able to climb a moderate hill) presumably going into ‘limp mode’? By the time I got the van to my local garage 1 week later, it was running normally albeit still sporting a warning light. There was an unresolved error code in the log indicating a problem with no3 injector, but apart from that no obvious fault and it was running perfectly again. Garage say they can find nothing wrong and gave it a 20 mile run without drama. While I’m pleased not to be facing a big invoice to pay, my confidence in the van is diminished. In my experience intermittent faults tend to reoccur at the most inconvenient time/place.

I would be interested to know if others have had injector faults, intermittent or otherwise, with the Ducato engine and the nature of the problem? There are some scary posts on other forums about rusty injectors ultimately requiring a replacement engine!
